The trumpeter and composer Andreas Polyzogopoulos is now a friend of the festival and honours it almost every summer. In the imposing archaeological site of Agios Andreas, overlooking the Aegean Sea, he will present his fifth personal work, “Petrichor”, a thoughtful, airy and deeply spiritual album. “Petrichor”, as it is called in Greek, is the characteristic smell that emerges from the ground when raindrops fall on it and often evokes feelings of nostalgia, marking the beginning of autumn or spring. At the composer’s side, Kostas Konstantinou on double bass and Wajdi Riahi on piano. Despite the absence of a drummer, the trio manages to maintain a steady and dynamic rhythmic feel.
